Nurse Educator Training

Over the weekend, immediately before the start of this week’s Tiny Feet Big Steps Neonatology Conference, nurse educators gathered for an intensive workshop focused on active teaching and adult-learning strategies.
Participants explored how to create psychologically safe learning environments, write clear and measurable learning goals using the SWBAT framework, and engage learners through discussion, movement, reflection, peer feedback, and hands-on problem solving — all with the goal of strengthening their teaching impact during this week’s conference sessions and in their hospitals and NICUs afterward.
By combining high standards with strong support, nurses developed the confidence and teaching skills needed to foster critical thinking, participation, and professional growth in neonatal and pediatric healthcare settings across Africa.
